Great dream team meeting tonight. Never got to my teaching on intuition in leadership. The conversation instead went to how failure is necessary for success (my intuition led us down this path.)
In talking about this subject (failure) I started thinking about my sons Ripstick. A Ripstick is an, almost impossible to ride, skateboard. He's great at it, I on the other hand, suck. Perhaps that's because I haven't failed enough at it to become good. And that's the point of the whole discussion. Without failure, you'll never be programed to succeed.
Think about it. Remember when you first learned to ride a bike. You failed over and over, but it's the failures that programmed your motor skills to respond in the way that brought you success. Failure in life is the same way, so don't be afraid to step out, try, and even fail. When you get back up and back on, you'll be more adapt to succeed the next time.
